Third front will be a flop: Dattatreya

It was the Bharatiya Janata Party’s turn on Sunday to launch a verbal onslaught on the State Government and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for the announcements and speeches made at the recently held TRS party plenary. Former Union Minister and senior party leader Bandaru Dattatreya called the plenary as nothing but indulging in “self- praise” and “flattery” while ignoring the real issues like farmers’ problems, irrigation and so on, plaguing the State.

At a press conference at the party office in the presence of media convenor V. Sudhakar Sharma, film actor & lawyer C.V.L. Narsimha Rao and others, Mr. Dattatryea said at a time when the Telangana people were expecting the TRS leaders to provide a direction to find solutions to the long pending problems of the State like the agriculture, water, education and several other governance issues, the plenary was only used to hail their party president for planning to bring about “revolutionary changes” after transforming TS! There was no need for KCR’s “revolution” since Prime Minister Narendra Modi had been making such drastic changes in various fields ever since he formed the NDA Government. Ridiculing the “Third front” proposed by KCR, the senior BJP leader predicted it to be a “flop”.

“We have seen several such fronts in the past too, none of them succeeded and this too is bound to fail,” he predicted. The Chief Minister has been propagating the political front only to sidetrack the failures of his own Government, he said.

Mr. Dattatreya also saw the TRS party losing in the ensuing general elections as the people are totally disenchanted with its rule in the last four and half years. He also objected to clubbing BJP with the Congress and said the latter was in power for more than 50 years whereas his party was in the Centre for less than a decade.
