Indore: Post Mandsaur bus accident, RTO to launch intense drive against violators

Indore: State transport department officials will launch an intensive drive against people driving vehicles without permit and those who will violate norms. The drive will be launched from May 1-15 on orders of state transport commissioner Shailendra Shrivastava, which were issued on Sunday.

“State transport commissioner has ordered to launch a drive against the vehicles, especially passenger buses, which are running without permit, overloaded or running along any other route,” Indore RTO Jitendra Raghuvanshi said. Orders have been released by the commissioner after the bus accident in Mandsaur district claimed lives of seven people on Sunday morning.

The bus was moving on a different route against the permit. The commissioner suspended Mandsaur RTO after the mishap. “We will launch a drive across the city against the buses running without permit and overloading from May 1-15. The drive will intensify now,” Raghuvanshi added. Indore RTO had also started a drive against buses after the Delhi Public School’s bus mishap occurred in January but it was stopped after a few days.
