Andrea Jeremiah, who impressed all with films such as Taramani and Thupparivaalan last year, is set to feature in a woman-centric thriller called Ka. The film was officially launched with a customary puja on Sunday in Chennai. At the launch, Andrea said it is a step towards reinventing herself.

“It’s been a long wait, but my new film #ka is finally going on floors it’s definitely WAY out of my comfort zone, but what’s life if you don’t constantly try to reinvent yourself #newbeginnings #backtowork #girlpower” she tweeted with the poster.

According to debutant director Nanjil, the film has no songs due to the intense mood of the film.

“It was our music director Amrish’s idea to not have songs. Since the script is very intense, he said there’s no scope for songs in the film. He also said that by forcefully inserting songs in a serious tone of the film, its impact will be diluted. Instead of songs, the focus will be kept on the background score to enhance the overall viewing experience of the film,” Nanjil told Hindustan Times.

In the film, she plays a wildlife photographer. The first-look poster of Andrea, holding a sharp knife in her hand, has been well received. Netizens particularly liked her fierce and battered look.

Based on incidents that occurred in recent past, the film is set in a jungle and the story follows events that unfold in a single day. The film will be shot in places such as Munnar, Western Ghats, Jharkhand and Andaman and Nicobar.
