Indore: A 26-year-old criminal was stabbed to death by a group of teenagers over old enmity in Pardeshipura area on Saturday late night. Five minor accused were arrested by police and a knife and iron rod were recovered from them. The deceased has been identified as Mohit Upadhyay, a resident of Janta Quarter area.
He was stabbed to death by six persons on the terrace of community hall. Pardeshipura police station in-charge Rajeev Tripathi said Mohit was a criminal and he had 12 criminal cases registered against him. His mobile phone was damaged by one of the accused and he had to pay Rs 1200 for repair. The accused was demanding money from the accused following which they had an argument a few days ago.
On Saturday night, Mohit was taking a walk near Yashoda Gate when he saw one of the accused and started argument with him for money and thrashed him. After few minutes, the accused arrived with his friends and thrashed Mohit. They later took Mohit to the terrace of community hall where they stabbed him to death and fled.
The family members reached there and took Mohit to MY Hospital but he could not be saved after which police were informed. Five minor accused were arrested on Sunday night. Search is on for sixth accused. Mohit was history sheeter of Pardeshipura police station. He had 12 criminal cases including attempt to murder registered against him. He was from Gorakhpur and was staying here for a few years with parents.
