The 60th Shepherd Maple Syrup Festival packed the village through the weekend. Morning Sun gallery photographers were there all weekend capturing the fun.

A federal judge has ruled that a law suit filed against Gratiot County contending the county unconstitutionally profited from the sale of Donald Freed’s property after it was seized for tax arrears will move forward in federal court. The county had motioned that the suit was filed in the wrong venue.
