Royal wedding: Why Meghan Markle's first maid of honour BANNED from Prince Harry day

ROYAL WEDDING: Who was Meghan Markle's maid of honour at her first wedding in 2011 to Trevor Engelson? Ninaki Priddy, who has known Prince Harry's fiancee since she was two, is said to have "betrayed" her former best friend, meaning she won't be invited to Meghan's upcoming nuptials.

The royal wedding is just around the corner, when Meghan Markle, 36, will marry Prince Harry, 33, on May 19 in a ceremony taking place at 12 noon, but who will her maid of honour be?

While Prince Harry has chosen his brother Prince William, 35, to be his best man, Meghan’s situation is more complicated.

Meghan’s maid of honour at her first wedding to producer Trevor Engelson, 41, in 2011, Ninaki Priddy, will not even get an invite this time around.

It is said this is because Meghan feels “betrayed” by Ninaki, after she sold stories about her to the media.

“As far as Meghan is concerned, Ninaki has betrayed her trust and is a persona non grata,” Katie Nicholl, author of Harry: Life, Loss and Love, told Best magazine.

Ninaki, a childhood friend of Meghan’s who has known the actress since they were two, has spoken badly of her to the media.

It is believed the pair, who were once “like sisters”, fell out after Meghan left her first husband, Trevor.

“What came to light after Trevor and I spoke ended my friendship with Meghan.

"I think everybody who knew them both was in shock,” Ninaki revealed to The Sun.

“All I can say now is that I think Meghan was calculated, very calculated, in the way she handled people and relationships.

“She is very strategic in the way she cultivates circles of friends.

“Once she decides you're not part of her life, she can be very cold. It's this shutdown mechanism she has.

“There's nothing to negotiate. She's made her decision and that's it.

Ninaki also shared video footage of an eight year old Meghan playing a ‘Queen’ with the Daily Mail.

Last week, it was revealed Meghan’s request for a private royal wedding was refused.

Royal wedding: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will marry on Saturday 19 May at 12 noon

The couple have had to bow to public demand rather than have the more private wedding they wanted, an insider has revealed exclusively to Express.co.uk.

On the wedding day, a carriage procession will leave St. George’s Chapel at 1pm and take a route around Windsor Town, according to a statement from Kensington Palace.

However, it would seem this is not what Meghan initially wanted for the wedding. “The carriage wasn’t going to happen,” revealed the insider.

“Meghan wanted it to be their wedding – it was her request for it to be much more private than Kate and William’s wedding.”

The couple were eventually forced to bow to public demand. “The Palace received thousands of letters saying the public want to be part of the wedding.”
