Free yoga class for survivors

Florida Hospital Flagler will hold a free yoga class for cancer survivors and caregivers at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, at the hospital's Education Center, Classroom C, 60 Memorial Medical Parkway, Palm Coast. The class teaches gentle, restorative yoga that focuses on integration of movements, stretches and breath awareness for those with range-of-motion and pain limitations and is offered on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. Breast cancer support group set

A breast cancer and gynecological cancer support group is scheduled for 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, at Florida Hospital Fish Memorial, 1055 Saxon Blvd., Orange City. Florida Hospital Flagler will hold a class for expecting parents on basic newborn care, tools to calm a crying, fussy baby and tips for reducing the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Stewart-Marchman symposium slated

Stewart-Marchman-Act Foundation will hold its third annual Who is Jay? Mental Health Symposium from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, May 18, at the Ocean Center, 101 N. Atlantic Ave., Daytona Beach. The symposium, titled "High Impact: Exploring the Impact of Mental Illness on Our Communities and the Positive Impact Individuals Can Have on the Issues," is open to the public. Keynote speaker will be Mike Veny, a leading mental health speaker, and presentations will include such subjects as alcohol and drug abuse, PTSD in veterans, the opioid crisis, suicide prevention and mental health in diverse communities.
