On Sunday, people of a society in Ram Mandir (Oshiwara) were in a state of shock when they found a partially decomposed body of a 75-year-old woman. The partially decomposed body was found in her flat of Shree Sai Ram society.
According to Mumbai Mirror, the other residents alerted the police on getting a foul smell from her home. After receiving a call from society Goregaon police reached the spot. And with a help of key maker, they opened the door and found partially decomposed body on the floor. The deceased was identified as Rameshwari Kanchan, residing alone in flat 4C of Shree Sai Ram society. The police after completing panchnama, sent the body to Siddharth Hospital for post-mortem.
Senior inspector Dhanaji Nalawade told the leading daily, “Prime facie, the death looks natural, as there is no sign of any assault. Nothing has been stolen from the house, and the door was locked from inside. The woman has two sons, one in Kulupwadi, Borivli, and the other in London. The family has been informed, and the body will be handed over to them once the post-mortem is done.” The police have registered an accidental death report and are investigating further. The deceased used to stay in the building for more than 15 years.
