NEW DELHI: Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Monday met RJD chief Lalu Prasad, who is currently recuperating at Delhi's All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). The RJP supremo has been serving a jail term since December 23, 2017.

He is undergoing treatment for various ailments related to the heart and kidney and was admitted to the institute on March 29. The AIIMS administration had formed a medical team comprising six doctors to decide his course of treatment.




The committee is chaired by Head of Department of Medicine Dr Naveet Wig and comprises doctors from the departments of surgery, cardiology, nephrology, and neurology.

Prasad, who has been serving a jail term in Ranchi in connection with the fodder scam, was admitted to the AIIMS for specialised treatment after being referred by the Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) in Ranchi. He had been admitted to RIMS in Ranchi on March 17 over complaints of uneasiness while he was lodged at the Birsa Munda Jail.
