Ali Oetjen confirmed as Australia's next Bachelorette

Talk about a speedy recovery.

Immediately after revealing Bachelor in Paradise contestant Ali Oetjen had split with Grant Kemp, Channel Ten announced she would star in its next Bachelorette series.

Oetjen appeared in the debut season of The Bachelor in 2013, but did not find love with Tim Robards.

This year, she featured in spin-off series Bachelor in Paradise. In the final episode, which aired on Monday night, she and Grant exchanged commitment rings while discussing marriage and babies.

It was not to last.

As the credits rolled, viewers were told the pair were over - and Oetjen would embark on a third attempt to find love on television.

“Warm, down-to-earth and honest, Ali is Australia’s sweetheart and we can’t wait to see the country’s most eligible bachelors compete to win her heart," said Ten's content boss, Beverley McGarvey.

“We have all been captivated by Ali’s search for love and are delighted to welcome her back in the new season of The Bachelorette."

“I have had my heart broken," Oetjen said, "but I’ve picked myself up and I’m ready to put my heart on the line again. I’m absolutely thrilled to start this new adventure.

“I’m looking for a man who is light-hearted and kind, a genuine and down-to-earth man who will sweep me off my feet and love me for me. And I’m looking forward to offering that love back to him in return.”

A sixth season of The Bachelor, starring former Wallaby Nick "Honey Badger" Cummins, will air on Ten later this year.

This will be followed by Oetjen's season of The Bachelorette, which begins filming soon.
