Viola Lovetinsky

VIOLA MAE LOVETINSKY
Iowa City

Viola Mae Lovetinsky, 96, formerly of Iowa City and West Liberty, passed away April 29, 2018, at Atrium Village in Hills.
Viola was born Oct. 11, 1921, in New Ulm, Minn., the daughter of John and Ula (Morford) Clark. She married Donald Lovetinsky on Nov. 16, 1943. They farmed outside of West Liberty until retiring to Iowa City. Together, they enjoyed many winters in Texas.
Viola enjoyed gardening, her flower beds, and crocheting stocking hats for churches and schools. In 2016, she moved to Atrium Village and enjoyed playing bingo, their various programs put on and visits with family.
Viola is survived by her three children, Richard Lovetinsky (Ruth) and Jim Lovetinsky (Deb) of West Liberty and Donna McGowan (Bruce) of Wapello; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Warren Clark; and numerous in-laws.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 3, at Gay & Ciha Funeral Service, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Iowa City.
