Michael Stanley & the Resonators will appear in concert at the Palace Theatre on Sept. 15.

After a lengthy absence, one of Cleveland's rock 'n' roll heroes is returning to Canton.

Michael Stanley & the Resonators will appear in concert at the Palace Theatre on Sept. 15. Canton-based duo Marti Jones & Don Dixon will open the show.

Tickets, priced at $79.50, $65.00 and $49.50, will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at the Palace box office, online at www.cantonpalacetheatre.org, by phone at 330-454-8172 and at www.livenation.com.

Over the years, Stanley has performed at the Palace, Canton Memorial Civic Center, Pro Football Hall of Fame Ribs Burnoff and Stark County Italian American Festival.

"I'm lucky to be here to still do this, and have people interested enough to support it,'' Stanley, who had quadruple bypass surgery in December, told the Cleveland Plain Dealer in a recent interview.

In August of 1982, the Michael Stanley Band, set an attendance record of four sold-out performances at Blossom Music Center — 74,400 attended — that still stands. The band's beloved songs include "My Town," "He Can't Love You." "Lover," "Nothing's Gonna Change My Mind," "Rosewood Bitters" and "Let's Get the Show On the Road." Stanley released his debut album in 1973.
