Avengers: Infinity war has earned $650 million within its first weekend at the box office.

Thanos demands your silence.

It seems the most precious commodity in the Marvel universe at present are spoilers. As the film earns a gargantuan $650 million in the first weekend breaking more records than we care to list here, directors Joe and Anthony Russo managed to keep a tight lid on the film’s storyline. Now that a large number of people in the world have seen the film, it is shocking to realize that a lot of information about the film was out there – in plain sight.

Take the poster above, for instance. We have seen and discussed it without realizing that it was the key that unlocked the entire film. For those who are yet to watch the film, here is the warning: Spoilers ahead. For others, hark back to Thanos explaining the balance to the child Gamora.

The whole film is built around Thanos’ need to restore balance to the world by killing off half the people in the universe and ensure better lives for those still alive. He acquires the Infinity Gauntlet so that he could do it with the snap of fingers what has become, for him, his life’s work.

He manages to pull this off in the end, thereby killing half the population of the universe. This poster is the perfect example of the same balance. It has a total of 24 superheroes on it.

Now, if you sit down and count how many of them ‘die’ in the end – you will be left with 12 who are alive and 12 who perish. In fact, if you divide this poster in each row in this poster, you will see three of each died and three of each live on.

And all of those who wondered where Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man was hiding on this poster and why Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye was missing, the simple answer is they were never a part of the film.

The film stars Robert Downey Jr, Josh Brolin, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L Jackson, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Don Cheadle, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Tom Hiddleston.
