Ujjain: Caterer forces minor to work in marriage party, booked


Ujjain: A complaint has been lodged with Neelganga police station accusing a caterer of forcing minors to work in a marriage party. According to information, Shailu (15) resident of Sanjay Nagar and his friends were hired by Ajay Caterers for a marriage scheduled in a marriage garden at Harifatak.

After completing the work, the caterer asked them to go to another marriage party at Maksi. The children said that the firm owner and his cronies thrashed them for refusing to work. Later, they bundled them in a vehicle going to Maksi. On being informed, minors’ parents chased the vehicle and thrashed the driver. Shailu later reported the matter with Neelganga police station. The police registered an FIR against Ajay Caterers and driver Saeed Khan under sections 323, 294, 506 and 34 of the IPC.

Saeed Khan also lodged a counter FIR alleging manhandling by Shailendra, Suraj, Nawal and Harinarayan at Tajpur Maksi Road. Chimanganj Mandi police also registered an FIR under sections 147, 341, 323, 294 and 506 in the matter and seized the vehicle carrying catering goods and workers.
