Guar gum futures crack 3.6 per cent

Press Trust of India  |  New Delhi

gum prices slumped by 3.6 per cent to Rs 8,409 per in futures trade today following offloading of positions by operators amid a weak trend at the physical market due to tepid export demand.

Marketmen attributed a steep fall in gum prices to offloading of bets by participants, tracking a weak trend at the spot markets due to fall in export demand.

At the National Derivatives and Commodity Exchange, gum delivery for delivery in May contracts fell by Rs 314, or 3.60 per cent, to Rs 8,409 per with an open interest of 38,445 lots.

gum for delivery in far-month June also dropped by Rs 264, or 2.99 per cent, to Rs 8,557 per with an open interest of 25,195 lots.
