Heavy rain lashed parts of the city on Monday afternoon bringing down trees, branches, and an advertisement banner. The India Meteorological Department said there were “traces” of rain in the city, while HAL recorded 36.3 mm rain by 5.30 p.m.

The BBMP received the maximum number of calls regarding tree and branch falls. Helpline personnel said around 17 calls were received from Shivajinagar, Banaswadi, Viveknagar, Thippasandra, ISRO Junction, Bommanahalli, HSR Layout, and Malleswaram. In Banaswadi, a tree fell on a parked car but no injuries were reported, the BBMP personnel said. Water-logging was reported from Domlur.

The IMD has predicted more rain and thundershowers in the next few days. The maximum temperature, however, continues to be around 35 degrees Celsius, while the minimum is around 22 degrees Celsius.
