Thieves stab knife into steering wheel after breakdown at Surfers Paradise

A manhunt is under way for two men who used a golf club, pliers and a knife to attack a driver after his car broke down at Surfers Paradise.

Police allege the men approached the 20-year-old on Commodore Drive after 8pm on Sunday and spoke to him before grabbing their weapons.

They punched the victim a number of times, smashed the car windows in, drove a knife into the steering wheel and stole his phone before fleeing the scene.
