eMERG, Engineering Manufacturer Entrepreneurs Resource Group is an association for Women in Technology, Business, Profession & Service, registered under the Societies Act, established in 2006. It is a not for profit, network of women in technology, business & services, started by 7 women entrepreneurs in the Electronics, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering manufacturing sector. eMERG is a Network of Women (Entrepreneurs & Professionals) in Technology, Business, Profession and Services with the objective to share thoughts on a common platform with network members. The members have a desire to contribute to the society, by playing a vital role in the economic growth of the country. Their key strengths and expertise lie in identifying the problems faced by the SME’s and to find solutions for the progress of this sector, with a special focus on women.
Over the years, eMERG has grown exponentially, and as a Not for Profit organization, eMERG works to provide women members a platform to showcase and develop their business and talents. eMERG regularly conducts training programs for the members, which provides them opportunities to learn about the current policies, funding facilities and B2B networking opportunities. In addition, eMERG provides skill training to a large number of educated/uneducated unemployed youth, both rural /urban areas, who can be trained in simple engineering skills so that they can be employable.
eMERG Mumbai chapter continues to make great strides even though it is just 18 months old. It was launched in September 2016, with the support of Intel Corporation. The launch was a great success and encouraged by the response we had, Intel and eMERG joined hands once again to do what we are best at – to get the women business owners under one roof for their learning and growth.
Even though the chapter is very young, we have conducted so far 4 successful events, and have entered into a partnership with Maharashtra Economic Development Council (MEDC).
