Indore: The office bearers of BJP mandals from Indore assembly constituency number 2 skipped the party’s district level meeting on Sunday apparently to express their anguish against senior party leaders who have not shown support for ward number 19 corporator Sumita Mishra. Mishra has been staging a sit-in for past four days over water crisis issue.
The BJP had convened a meeting of party office bearers from all assembly constituencies in the city on Sunday. The MLAs and office-bearers from all the constituencies except Indore-2 constituency participated in the meeting.
When inquired, the party leaders came to know that the office-bearers skipped the meeting as they did not support Mishra over water crisis issue. Mishra is a supporter of national BJP general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya who doesn’t get along well with Mayor Malini Gaud.
The Vijayvargiya camp is unhappy after BJP corporator Sapna Chouhan’s supporter beat additional municipal commissioner Rohan Saxena a year back. The corporator was jailed in the case. The MiC members from Vijayvargiya camp did not show up at IMC since then.
City BJP president Kailash Sharma said Indore-2 MLA Ramesh Mendola did not attend the meeting as he is out of city. “As far as BJP leaders from his constituency are concerned, we will ask them why they did not show up at the meeting. If there is any issue, it will be solved within the party,” he said.
