Vietnam Airlines: Investigation launched after pilots land on wrong runway
VIETNAM Airlines have reportedly suspended two pilots after a plane landed on a closed runway. Unable to taxi to the airport, the plane got stuck with all 203 passengers and crew having to be transported to the Cam Ranh airport.

Vietnam Airlines passengers had their plans disrupted after landing at Nha Trang Cam Ranh International Airport.
Flight VN7344 left Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam yesterday heading for Cam Ranh city.
However, passengers were held up upon landing after the plane touched down in the wrong place.
The pilots landed the plane on a runway that was closed and under construction.
Having mistakenly landed on the non-operational runway, the plane was stuck.
The plane was carrying a total of 203 passengers and seven crew members - including the US citizen captain for Vietnam Airline according to Airlive.net.
At the time of landing, the pilots were faced with good weather.
All onboard equipment systems have been reported to of been in full working order.
However, after landing all passengers and their luggage were unable to reach the airport.
The runway in which they landed on was under maintenance and was not yet connected to the rest of the airport.

According to reports, the plane’s engine suffered minor damage during the incident.
Both pilots are said to have been suspended while an investigation into the incorrect landing is underway.
Passengers were later transported to the terminal, although it is not yet clear how the plane was recovered.
The Express.co.uk has reached out to Vietnam Airlines for comment.
March saw another pilot suspended after images taken inside of the cockpit were leaked.
The easyJet pilot Michel Castellucci and his co-pilot were suspended after they were caught using Snapchat mid-flight.

The video attracted thousands of views for the few hours that it was live on Snapchat.
The footage showed the two pilots playing with the app creating joke images of the two men who were flying a commercial plane at the time.
A spokesperson for the airline claimed that “at no point was the safety of the passengers compromised”, it admitted that it had fallen short of the “high standards” easyJet offers.
An investigation into the incident was carried out suspending the pilots for their inappropriate behaviour.
EasyJet later fired the captain Mr Castellucci for the inappropriate behaviour, and the co-pilot stepped now.
