KATHMANDU: A man has been arrested on charge of brutally murdering two minor kids at a rented room in Shantinagar scatters settlement, KMC–31 recently, police said.

The police identified the deceased as 8-year-old boy Sushil Sardar and his 6-year-old brother Sujal. According to police the minors were strangled to death on April 22.

However, Police recovered their bodies on April 27 before a special force apprehended the suspect Dilip Kumar Yadav (24) of Gamarahiya in Siraha Municipality-13 in the district, from Madar Chowk the Municipality-yesterday.

Earlier, Yadav was living with Samjhana Sundar Sardar and her two sons from previous marriage for a year, in Kathmandu before falling out in their relations.

After Yadav misbehaved her sons, Samjhana decided to live her own and had gone to Biratnagar in search of works. Yadav was urging Samjhana to return to Kathmandu since a month threatening to take away lives of her sons if she did not comply, police said.

Meanwhile, the suspect has been sent to Metropolitan Police Circle New Baneshwor for further investigation and action today.
