Bomb exploded in Gonda Four of a family were injured

Four of a family were injured when a transistor bomb exploded in Gonda later on Friday evening. The victims found the unclaimed transistor and tried to switch it on which triggered a blast. Senior police officers along with a team of Anti-Terrorists Squad (ATS) rushed to the spot and were probing to confirm whether it was some subversive activity or a simple incident. 

As per reports, Rajkala of Prithvipurwa Balpur hamlet in Karnailganj Kotwali area of Gonda, was working in the fields on Friday afternoon where she saw a radio like object. She picked it up and took it home after finishing her work. Around 7pm on Friday, two of her family members asked her switch on the radio. 

As it was switched on, an explosion took place in which Rajkala, her son Arun, Arun’s wife Seema, and Rajkala’s nine-year-old nephew Vipin were injured. They were admitted to a hospital and the local police was informed, who  rushed to the spot along with Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS). 

The team collected the debris to send it for explosive check at Forensic Science Laboratory in Agra. Though the police denied any subversive design behind the incident, but still sleuths of Anti-Terrorists Squad (ATS) were looking into the matter. 

Meanwhile in Meerut, armed robbers shot a bride and looted jewellery worth several lakh rupees after intercepting a marriage party on Delhi-Dehradun highway near Matore village, under Dorala police station area on Friday night. The groom and four others were injured in the attack. The victims were returning to the district after the wedding in Ghaziabad. They claimed that half a dozen armed men in two cars, intercepted the marriage party while it was on its way back. Bride Farhana was shot dead after she resisted the robbers.The robbers made off with jewellery and a car. The police have started a search operation to nab the perpetrators.
