Former Franklin County pitcher Carla Hall pitched a no-hitter to lead Virginia Wesleyan to a 6-0 win over Emory & Henry in the ODAC softball tournament final on Sunday at the Moyer Sports Complex.
The Marlins (45-2) had to work their way back into the championship after losing their opener to eighth-seeded Guilford on Friday — that meant Wesleyan had to win six times to claim the title, as well as needing to sweep the Wasps on Sunday.
In the first game, tournament MVP Hanna Hull tossed a complete-game, one-hitter in a 1-0 win.
Julia Sinnett’s RBI-single in the fourth inning was all Hull needed in the opener, as she struck out 10 and walked one to force the deciding game.
Hall struck out four and walked none in the final game and got support from Jessica Lindsay’s solo home run and four Wasp errors.
