CLEBURNE – Two of the top Class 4A teams in the state engaged in a warmup game Saturday, but it was No. 3 Robinson edging No. 9 Iowa Park, 2-1, in a classic pitcher's duel.
The game was scoreless heading into the seventh inning as both teams used multiple pitchers to shut down the other's bats. Robinson broke through for two runs in the top of the seventh. Iowa Park responded, but a two-out single by Braxton Briones, bringing in Kaden Ashlock, was the extent of their damage.
It's just the second loss for Iowa Park (22-2) this season. The other was against seventh-ranked Godley.
