Pradhan to unveil B’swar pump stn today

Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on April 29 will inaugurate the Baleswar Pump Station at Hidigaon, Chandipur, Paradip-Baleswar section of LPG PHD of the Paradip Haldia Barauni Crude Oil Pipeline (PHBPL) and second Carousal of LPG bottling plant at Kuruda, Baleswar.

Addressing a Press meet, ED SERPL, India Oil PC Choubey said for augmentation of PHBPL, the Indian Oil Corporation (IOL) has invested Rs 586 crore for four States such as Odisha, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar out of which Rs 321 crore has been invested in Odisha only. CGM Indian Oil, SLC Oil Industry Pritish Bharat was present.

With the commissioning of 157 km of 10.75’’ diameter Paradip-Baleswar section pipeline, construction of pump station at Paradip and delivery station at Baleswar, the road transportation of LPG from Paradip is eliminated thus reducing carbon emissions and traffic congestion. From the environmental point of view, the project would result in reduction of Co2 emission to the tune of 16 lakh MT per annum, he said.

The commissioning of new bottling facilities shall result in overall bottling capacity of 180 TMTPA for IOCL at Odisha making it self sufficient to meet enhanced demand due PMUY, he added.
