Addl CS’ mother passes away

Gayatri Singh, 75, mother of Additional Chief Secretary, Urban Development department, Arun Kumar Singh breathed her last here at Army Hospital on Saturday.

Wife of Lt Colonel Damodar Singh, Gayatri Singh was under treatment for several days. Singh is survived by her son Arun Kumar Singh, daughter Pratima, grandsons Siddharth and Aditya. Eminent personalities of the State paid tributes to the departed soul including Urban Development Minister CP Singh and Food and PDS Minister Saryu Roy.

The cremation was done at the Harmu Mukti Dham on Saturday itself where Additional CS Sukhdev Singh, Principal Secretary to CM Sunil Kumar Barnwal, other senior officers, including Rajesh Kumar Sharma, Shantanu Kumar Agrahari, Rahul Purwar, Rai Mahimapat Ray, Prashant Singh alongwith others were present. A condolence meet has been organised on April 29 at Arun Singh’s residence at Radha Krishna Garden, Bariatu between 3:00 and 5:00 PM.
