Contracts given to Andhra lobbyists: Uttam

TPCC chief hits back at CM

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, rebutted Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s criticism that he carried money bags of Andhra contractors and challenged him to reveal the details of contracts given in Telangana.

About 95% of contracts in Telangana are given to Andhra contractors by Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao, he said and added that Congress party would continue to raise the issue of misuse of public wealth, he said at a press conference here.

Clarifying on 150 rooms in Pragati Bhavan, Mr. Reddy said the number of rooms was not an issue but the construction of one lakh sft building spending ₹ 60 crore on land worth ₹ 500 crore was questionable. “Instead of challenging me, KCR should clarify whether it has bullet-proof bathrooms and bedrooms and why common people are not allowed to meet the CM.” He also questioned “lavish lifestyle” stating KCR’s family members travel in cars worth over ₹ 1 crore and take private chartered flights even for personal visits when government had no money to pay compensation to farmers who committed suicide or for double bedroom houses. Mr. Reddy said the Congress party never opposed Kaleshwaram project but it only wanted the Pranahita Chevella project to be completed first.

‘TRS can’t win’

He ridiculed KCR’s plan for a Federal Front stating TRS can’t win a single Lok Sabha seat and the Third Front talk was only aimed at diverting attention from his failures.

Leader of Opposition in the Council, Mohd Ali Shabbir challenged Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao to hold a public meeting at OU first before talking of creating ripples in New Delhi from Hyderabad. Mr. Shabbir also sought an apology from the Chief Minister for his remarks on the TPCC chief. Former Union minister Balram Naik, ex-MP M. Anjan Kumar Reddy and Youth Congress president Anil Kumar Yadav were present.
