Screening of movie ‘Ma Vie de Courgette’ among the events

The city joins the celebration of the 70 years of Swiss-Indian Friendship 2017-2018 (SIF70) with the screening of the celebrated animation film, Ma Vie de Courgette (My Life as a Zucchini) at the Alliance Francaise auditorium on Monday.

The screening is part of several events being hosted by the Embassy of Switzerland and its official representations in India that include exchanges between artists, performers, writers, film makers, photographers, designers, architects and communities with the “intention to connect minds and inspire new ideas.”

Among the collaborators for the Swiss project to hold public screenings of films “that travel on a special bus and bring a message of friendship, understanding, respect and inclusiveness” are the Consulate General of Switzerland and swissnex India, a networked community of alumni of Swiss Universities.

The 1-hour 10-minute film, which has an Oscar nomination on its bio, tells the story of a lad who grows up in a foster home after the passing of his mother and how he learns his life lessons among fellow orphans.

The screening of Ma Vie de Courgette (directed by Claude Barras and Michael Sinterniklaas) is scheduled for 7 p.m.
