With the first of their two picks in the fifth round of the NFL Draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers selected Penn State safety Marcus Allen.
Allen (6-2, 215 pounds), the godson of Hall of Fame running back Curtis Martin, has started for the Nittany Lions since his freshman season, when he played in all 13 games and started seven.
He was an honorable mention All-Big 10 pick the following year and a third-team selection in 2016, when he had a career best 110 tackles, including six for losses. He had 71 tackles and one interception his senior season.
The Steelers, who did not have a pick in the fourth round, have one more pick in the fifth round.
