Public advised to take precautionary measures when outdoors

People have been cautioned about heat wave conditions likely to prevail in Nellore district for three days, from April 30 to May 2, as temperatures may soar higher than 43 degrees C during these days.

A statement issued by the Collectorate said that the Andhra Pradesh Meteorological Department, Vijayawada, has sounded an alert regarding the heat wave.

Already, the district officials have asked the people to take precautionary measures while moving outdoors during noon hours.

Meanwhile, various organisations are coming forward to open butter milk and drinking water kiosks all over the city. A water kiosk was opened by the Nellore Municipal Corporation and the Jain Samaj at RTC bus stand here. Mayor Abdul Aziz said that people coming from rural areas should take additional precautions to beat summer heat. He appealed to more organisations to come forward and extend a helping hand in setting up butter milk kiosks.
