Karnataka Assembly Elections: PM Narendra Modi to campaign from May 1

BENGALURU: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hit the campaign trail in Karnataka from May 1. Visiting the state for the first time after election dates were announced, Modi will start his campaign from Chamarajanagar district where he will address a public rally in Santhemaranahalli at 11.30am.

He will then head to Udupi, visit Krishna Mutt and take blessings of the Pejawar seer before addressing a rally at AGM College Ground in Udupi at 3pm. Later, he will fly to Chikkodi to address another rally.

Interaction with women

Meanwhile, the BJP has organized an interaction programme - Karunada Mahila Jagruti Samvada - between women from various cities simultaneously in a town hall setting on Saturday. “This programme is organized to understand women’s aspirations,’’ a BJP release said.

CM to embark on 10-day tour

Chief minister Siddaramaiah will undertake a 10-day state tour from Saturday. Siddaramaiah will commence the tour from Nipani town bordering Maharashtra.

He will cover Belagavi, Bagalkot, Vijayapura, Kalaburagi, Bidar, Dharwad, Ballari, Chitradurga, Davanagere and Tumakuru districts, said a release from his office.
