Four boys robbed a 50-year-old man in Dover early Saturday morning, the city police department said. 

At about 2:18 a.m., the victim was walking in the area of South New Street and West Division Street, when he was approached by four black male juveniles, police said.

One of the suspects struck the victim in the face with a handgun and the victim fled on foot, according to police. The suspects chased the victim, taking a red backpack that contained his personal belongings, police said. 

The victim suffered a minor laceration to his lip as a result of the incident, police said.
