Royal baby: How Prince Louis’s middle names are nod to Kate’s family
PRINCE Louis' middle names are connected to the Duchess of Cambridge, it was revealed amid mounting speculation his middle names, Arthur and Charles, were chosen solely to honour Prince William's family.
The name Louis is believed to be passed on from Prince Philip's uncle Lord Mountbatten, who died in 1979 by the IRA.
But it emerged the Cambridges have also paid tribute to the Middletons as well as the Royal Family with Prince Louis Arthur Charles's name.
Kate has strong links to the names Arthur and Charles on both her mother's and father's side.
Her father, Michael Middleton, is related to children's author Arthur Ransome, who wrote Swallows and Amazons whereas Carole - the Duchess' mother - iss the grandchild of Charlie Goldsmith.

Mr Middleton relates to the names Arthur and Charles from his great-grandfather, Frank Lupton who was a wealthy mill owner.
Mr Lupton had four sons - Francis in 1848, Arthur in 1850, Charles in 1855 and Hugh in 1861. His fifth born died in his childhood.
The family were very well-off, having lived in a Victorian mansion and hired six servants to tend to their needs.

They mingled with the socialites of Leeds and kept up to date with the day's politics and their son Charles was the first in the family to go to public school, securing a tradition that would follow through to the Duchess of Cambridge.
All four brothers became influential leaders in society, but also faced turmoil.
Arthur's wife died while giving birth aged 35, leaving her husband a widower with three children, Arthur, two, Elinor one and baby Elizabeth.
It was Hugo Lupton, son of Hugh Lupton and cousin of the Duchess' great grandmother, Olive, who tied the Luptons to Arthur Ransome.

Hugh Lupton married the author's sister, Joyce, in 1920 and had four children - Francis, Arthur, Cecily and Geofrey - keeping the name Arthur running through the Duchess of Cambridge's family.
The Duchess of Cambridge's also bears maternal links to the name Charles.
Her mother's grandfather Charles was born in Acton, Middlesex in 1886 and worked as a mechanic.

He married Edith, a tiny woman, who bore a scar across her chest from a harrowing accident as a toddler.
They wed in 1909 at Uxbridge, while she was four months pregnant. They named their child Charles, after his father.
When Charles Jr was 28, his father died, leaving him, his 6-year-old brother Ronald - Kate's grandfather - and mother Edith alone to fend for themselves.
Years later came Ronald's granddaughter, the Duchess of Cambridge who now lives in Kensington Palace.
