Bargarh boy cracks UPSC exam in first attempt

BHUBANESWAR: Vedbhushan, a resident of Bargarh, has cracked the civil services with 293 rank. The results of the Union Public Service Commission were published (UPSC) on Friday.
"Though I had donewell and was quite optimistic about the result, this is nothing short of a pleasant surprise," said Vedbhushan, who cleared the test in the first attempt itself. Vedbhushan studied in Kendriya Vidyalaya, Bargarh from Class I to Class XII before doing his graduation in physics from Ravenshaw University and Masters from Pondicherry University.

He opted for political science as his main subject in civil (mains). "After six months of coaching in Delhi, it was mainly self-study for him at home," said his father Somadatta, a KV teacher currently posted in Sambalpur. TNN
