Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has urged Union Health Minister JP Nadda to ask the Medical Council of India (MCI) to send its team for a second visit to the Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College (PRMMC), Baripada, for an inspection so that the medical college can start from 2018-19 academic session. Pradhan reminded Nadda of his letter on May 4, 2017 wherein a request was made for conducting the second  visit by the MCI team to PRMMC, Baripada for issuance of Letter of Permission (LoP) for commencement of UG classes for 2017-18 session. Pradhan stated that five new medical colleges, including the one at Baripada, are set up by the Odisha Government in collaboration with the Centre under the Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS).  He stated that by now, the construction work of the PRMMC, Baripada, is over and to make it functional, the MCI has to carry out the second inspection and submit an assessment report.
