SP President Akhilesh Yadav who, earlier, was slated to campaign in the favour of Congress but decided against it and even announced not to campaign instead desiring to contest few candidates may be 10-15 in number. Yogi, the mahant of Gorakhnath Peeth of Gorakhpur, will be handy for Bharatiya Janata Party owing to the presence of ‘muths’ of his peeth in Karnataka. It is of common knowledge that the Mahant heading the ‘Muths’ in karnataka is ‘guru bhai’ of Yogi, being common disciple of Mahant Avaidyanath.

The assembly seats in Karnataka are spread over six political regions of Karnataka namely Bombay-Karnataka (50 seats) , South Karnataka (50 seats), Central Karnataka ( 36 seats), Bengaluru ( 36 seats) ,Hyderabad-Karnataka (32 seats ) and Coastal Karnataka (20 seats).

It is presumed that Yogi’s impact will be more visible in South Karnataka and parts of Central Karnataka and Bengaluru. The election meetings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi starting next week combined with the meetings of Yogi has already sent the BJP in upbeat mood dreaming to dethrone the Congress from the state.

It is also a historical fact that anti-incumbency has always been perceptible as far as Karnataka assembly polls are concerned. The coastal region where the BJP had a dismal performance in 2013, is likely to witness turnaround this time as the RSS has been active in the region this time.

With 2655 candidates in the fray, the polls scene in the southern state is likely to be hotter next week.
