F1 news: Lewis Hamilton to make engineers work ‘overnight’ to fix Azerbaijan GP problem
LEWIS HAMILTON was frustrated with Mercedes’ lack of pace at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix practice and says he will making his engineers work overnight to fix it.
That is despite team-mate Valtteri Bottas recording the fastest time in FP1 - almost half a second quicker than Daniel Ricciardo.
Hamilton finished fourth and it got no better in FP2 as Red Bull and Ferrari came back stronger.
Ricciardo, fresh from his Chinese Grand Prix win a fortnight ago, recorded the best lap of the day while Kimi Raikkonen took second.
Max Verstappen completed the top three, leaving Bottas and Hamilton just below.
The practice does not make good reading for Mercedes ahead of the qualification tomorrow and Hamilton says he will demand answers to try and close the gap in Baku.

"Overall, we weren't quick enough today," said Hamilton.
"Both Red Bull and Ferrari seem to be ahead of us at the moment.
"We've got some work to do.

Mercedes' technical director James Allison echoed his driver's sentiments.
"We've got a lot more to do tonight in order to be able to take the fight to a very fast Red Bull," Allison said.
"But we have plenty of directions to head in.
"It was a day of learning at this very unusual track [but] we've made progress."
