MIRAMAR BEACH — Sandestin Investments (SDI) has received final approval from the Walton County Commission to build a new 250-room full-service hotel adjacent to the Baytowne Conference Center at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort.
This $100 million-dollar hotel is the first new development within Sandestin in more than four years. Construction is expected to start in August and be completed by April 2020.
“To remain competitive, locally, regionally and nationally, we identified the need to provide a new product, new services and new amenities,” said Sara Becnel, executive director of Sandestin. “This hotel will operate and function as a full-service hotel rather than a vacation rental or fractional rental offering.”
The hotel will include a three-meal restaurant, a lobby bar, room service, luxury spa, fitness facility, a signature rooftop pool and rooftop bar. It also will boast more than 20,000 square feet of meeting space and feature a 13,000-square foot ballroom.
The Baytowne Conference Center will be fully renovated as a part of the project.
