F1 news: Sergey Sirotkin CRASHES to leave Williams facing race against time
THIS is the moment Sergey Sirotkin suffered a premature end to his final practice session in Baku ahead of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
With just six minutes left of the clock of FP3, Sirotkin went into Turn Three way too hot and didn’t back out early enough.
The Williams driver locked up and ended up crashing heavily into the wall.
"Sorry guys, I'm OK. Sorry for that," Sirotkin said over the radio.
While the Russian rookie emerged unscathed from the incident, the same could not be said for his car.

Sirotkin smashed the front-right of the car and appeared to do significant damage to his suspension.
Williams are now facing a race against time to rebuild the car and ensure he can participate in qualifying.
Despite a red flag after Sirotkin’s crash, race officials were able to re-start the final practice session with three minutes remaining.
It allowed teams to go out for a one-lap qualifying simulation and Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel finished quickest, topping the times with ease.
The German was 0.361 seconds clear of reigning champion Lewis Hamilton while Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen was third ahead of Red Bull's Max Verstappen.
