Local expectations taken into account: Finance Commission

The 15th has taken into account the expectations of the local people while assessing the finances of Assam, its N K today said.

The Autonomous Councils present in the meeting included Bodoland Territorial Council, Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, Dima Hasao Autonomous Council, Deori Autonomous Council, Tiwa Autonomous Council, among others.

The councils put forth their suggestions of preserving the indigenous culture and dialects of the small ethnic groups and requested the commission to provide funds for the purpose.

The commission also had a meeting with various industry bodies including Chamber of Commerce, Confederation of Indian Industry, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industries, Branch of Indian Tea Association, Indian Chamber of Commerce, All Small Scale Industries Association, among others.
