Hillcrest Concert Band to kickoff 2018 tour at Notre Dame College

The Hillcrest Concert Band will begin its 2018 Performance Tour with a performance at 7:30 p.m., May 15, in the Regina Auditorium at Notre Dame College, 1857 South Green Road in South Euclid.

The auditorium has comfortable seating, convenient parking, and is air-conditioned, according to a news release. Admission to the Spring Concert is always free though donations are welcome, and recordings will be sold.

Tribute will be given to Karl King, a composer of early band music, and his teacher. Tribute also will be given to Leonard Bernstein, one of America’s foremost conductors, composers, and educators. He was born in 1918, and would have been 100 years old this year, as are two retired members of the Hillcrest Concert Band that will be recognized for their musical contributions.
