
General Motors CEO Mary Barra earned about $22 million in 2017, a slight decline from the previous year due to higher performance targets.
Her total pay for 2017 fell 2.8 percent, or $624,011, from the nearly $22.6 million she was awarded for 2016.
Barra's compensation, disclosed Friday in a , included a $2.1 million base salary, up $100,000; $5 million in short-term incentives, down from $6.8 million; and $10.7 million in performance-based stock grants, down about $2.3 million from 2016.
Compensation for GM's other top executives slid slightly across the board -- an average of nearly $650,000 -- mainly due to not exceeding performance targets as much as in 2016 and changes to pension values.
