Russian Helicopters holding and Turkey’s Kaan Air signed an agreement on supply of three Ka-32A11BC helicopters at the Eurasia Airshow in Antalya, Turkey, press service of the Russian company said on Thursday.
"According to the document, all the three helicopters will be supplied in 2018. These helicopters are planned for firefighting operations," TASS reports quoting a statement made by the Russian holding as saying.
Ka-32A11BC is a medium-class multirole helicopter intended for firefighting, search and rescue operations, evacuation of patients and victims, as well as for patrolling and support of operations of law enforcement agencies. It is in service in Russia, Canada, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, China and other countries.
China is set to receive first Ka-32 helicopter next month under the contract which Russian Helicopters won last year to manufacture six of them. The Russian Helicopters' production arm will manufacture six Ka-32A11BC helicopters in 2017 for a number of Chinese companies such as Jiangsu Huayu General Aviation Company, Qingdao Public Security Bureau, Minhao and Jiangsu Baoli A group of Jiangsu Baoli company experts have arrived at the Kumertau Aviation Production Enterprise to receive two Ka-32A11BC helicopters which should be handed over to the Chinese operators in 2017 under the contract, the company announced Friday
Russian Helicopters will continue to provide maintenance of TV3-117 engines, VR-252 gearboxes, AI-9 power plants and on-board equipment for Ka-32 helicopters flown by South Korean operators.
