I had the pleasure of attending the "For God and Country" program by the Beaver Valley Choral Society at the New Brighton United Methodist Church.
It was absolutely inspirational to hear the beautiful voices and the Mary Inman Honors Bell Choir with the orchestra and accompanists. This concert was so uplifting and full of patriotic music that made one feel such pride for our country, regardless of our political preference. They even included honoring the men and women of our armed forces.
They sang to the glory of God and that day we were treated to two songs involving the sweet Treble Youth Choral. My favorite adult selections included “God Bless America,” “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” “Thank You, Soldiers” and the powerful “This is My Song.” They announced other learning opportunities available for the 2018 Summer Choral and Instrumental Academy at www.rasd.org.
Keep up the tremendous work singing and playing under the direction of Sharon R. Burchill, associate director and conductor. It takes incredible time and commitment and you deserve the standing ovation you received. God bless you all.
