A fire broke out in the hostel of the state run nursing training school here in the district today but no casualty was reported, fire brigade sources said.
Three fire tenders fought for over an hour to control the blaze that broke out in two rooms of the hostel where 24 first year students used to stay.
The authorities vacated the entire school after the fire was noticed at around 4 pm.
The fire was suspected to have been caused by short circuit, fire brigade sources said adding the extent of damage was yet to be ascertained.
The blaze also caused panic among the patients of the nearby hospital and their relatives, though no damage was done to it, the sources said.
