Factory owner surrenders

The owner of a rubber factory at Bellapitiya in Horana today surrendered to courts over the death of five persons on April 19.

They died after inhaling ammonia from a wastewater pit at the factory.

Thirty four others were admitted to hospital.

Previously, the manager and the officer in charge of the factory’s laboratory were arrested and remanded.
