B-CU women's tennis wins

Bethune-Cookman (9-7) advanced to the semifinals of the MEAC Tournament on Thursday in Norfolk, Virginia. Phatsimo Ruele won 6-4, 2-6, 6-1 over Sajela Harlow at No. 5 singles in the Wildcats' 4-3 win over Howard (7-10). B-CU seniors Matea Roki and Alejandra Vidal won in singles and doubles.

B-CU men's tennis loses

B-CU (4-10) lost 4-1 to Norfolk State (9-5) in the quarterfinals of the MEAC Tournament. Victor Bravo/Jose Plazas and Juan Diego Ruiz/Juan Navarro earned the doubles point for the Wildcats.

ERAU women's lacrosse honored

Embry-Riddle freshmen McKenzie Jackson (first team) and Mya Watson (second team) were honored by the Sunshine State Conference. Jackson (64 goals, 22 assists) and Watson (66 goals, 26 assists) keyed the Eagles (7-10).

Hats' Wilson on watch list

Stetson senior Brooks Wilson was one of 41 players named Thursday to the midseason watch list for the Stopper of the Year Award, which is presented annually by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. In his first season as a closer, Wilson ranks second in the nation with 15 saves. He has a 3-0 record with a 1.55 ERA in 40.2 innings over 22 games. He enters this weekend needing eight strikeouts to hit the 300 strikeouts mark.

Hats softball signs IF/OF

Stetson signed Florida SouthWestern State transfer Riley Russell. Russell, a 5-foot-2 infielder/outfielder, is batting .422 with 68 hits and an NJCAA-leading 65 stolen bases this season for the Buccaneers (48-3), currently the No. 1 ranked team.
