The market will be open every Saturday, rain or shine, from 9 a.m. to noon until October, according to a news release. Customers will receive a complementary strawberry plant, while they last, that have been donated by Hawthorne Springs Greenhouse in Burton.

Opening day will feature hanging baskets, flower and vegetable seedlings, fresh seasonal produce, fresh baked goods, coffee and doughnuts, beef, pork and lamb, as well as pasture chicken and turkey, jams and jellies, honey and maple syrup, mushrooms and free-range eggs, aromatherapy products and hand-made soaps, and other local artisan products.

Master Gardeners from the Ohio State University Extension Service will be on hand to answer questions about growing seedlings and vegetables, the release stated. They also will answer other plant questions.

The Geauga Fresh Farmers Market is a producer-only market providing options such as organic, naturally grown, free range, antibiotic free, non GMO, grass-fed, hormone free or gluten free products, the release stated.
