After a legal fight between the co-producers, ‘Parmanu‘ is all set to hit theatres on May 25, 2018. And to build-up the film’s release, the makers have released the first teaser of the film and it will keep you hooked to your seats.
In the video, there is old documentary footage interspersed with snippets from Jawaharlal Nehru’s iconic independence speech. The video starts by showing the country’s pivotal moments like the 1971 war, 1983 Cricket World Cup victory and finishes with Boman Irani talking about the mission that got lost in the pages of history, the nuclear tests conducted at Pokhran. And in the end, John Abraham declares, “It’s time for India to become a nuclear state.” The story chronicles the 1998 nuclear tests that the Indian government carried out in Pokran, Rajasthan that allowed India to declare itself a nuclear state.
‘Parmanu’ is about a team of officers who were given the responsibility of carrying out the secret operation. And John Abraham will play the role of an army officer who is heading a team. The mission was named ‘Operation Shakti’, that was carried out even after the tremendous international pressure. It’s an event that doesn’t get discussed much but put India on the course to become a nuclear power.
‘Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran’ is directed by Abhishek Sharma. The movie will clash with Vikramaditya Motwane’s ‘Bhavesh Joshi Superhero’, starring Harshvardhan Kapoor.
