A 30-year-old motorcyclist who was involved in a crash Thursday is accused of driving under the influence by police.
Fort Myers police announced Benjamin Andrew Paddock faces accusations of driving under the influence, DUI with property damage, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license and operating a motorcycle with no endorsement.
Paddock had a blood alcohol content level of 0.110 percent following the crash on Champion Ring Road near the Hyatt Place Hotel, according to a news release. In Florida, the legal limit is 0.08 percent.
Police found him injured in an empty field next to a heavily damaged motorcycle. Witnesses said they saw a motorcycle ride by then heard a loud crash and rushed to the scene.
